Some wedding days just stay with you — and this one at Kingston Estate was definitely one of them. From the moment I started editing the gallery, I knew it was a wedding I’d be excited to share.

Set in the South Hams countryside near Totnes, Kingston Estate is one of those venues that feels both luxurious and relaxed at the same time. The estate centres around a beautiful Georgian mansion dating back to the 1700s and is surrounded by gardens, barns and countryside views, giving couples so many different spaces to use throughout the day.

A Wedding Day Full of Energy

From the very beginning of the day, there was such a lovely atmosphere. The morning preparations felt calm but full of excitement, and as the day unfolded you could really feel how special it was for everyone there.

What stood out most to me was just how much love there was in the room. The couple were clearly surrounded by people who adore them, and those are always the best kinds of weddings to photograph. There were so many natural moments happening all day long, from hugs during the drinks reception to laughter during speeches and a packed dance floor later in the evening.

Why Kingston Estate Is Such a Special Venue

One of the reasons Kingston Estate works so beautifully for weddings is how versatile it is. Couples can hold ceremonies in the gardens or inside the barns, host their wedding breakfast overlooking the grounds, and then move into completely different spaces for the evening celebrations.

Just some reasons why I think Kingston Estate is a top wedding venue in Devon to consider:

A stunning Georgian country house at the heart of the estate

Gorgeous getting ready rooms filled with natural light

Multiple ceremony and reception spaces including barns, gardens and courtyards

Capacity for larger celebrations with up to around 200–250 guests

On-site accommodation for many of your guests

Late-night party spaces including unique after-party areas and bars across the estate -

It’s the kind of venue where the whole day can flow naturally without guests needing to travel between locations, which always makes a wedding feel really relaxed.

A beautiful outdoor wedding breakfast space which has gorgeous natural lighting (a photographers dream!)

The BEST disco ball vibes for the dance floor!

Planning a Wedding at Kingston Estate

If you’re planning your wedding at Kingston Estate, you’ll quickly realise how much potential the venue has for creating a really personal day. Whether couples want something relaxed and garden-focused or a full weekend celebration with multiple events, the estate really lends itself to both.

From a photographer’s point of view, there is such a variety of backdrops, from the gardens to the barns, and to the evening party spaces. Kingston is just an incredible place to capture a wedding story.

Below you can take a look through a wedding I photographed at Kingston Estate last year (2025) for Harriet & Nick's special day.
