The importance of finding the right wedding photographer

In this blog, I wanted to focus on the fundamental aspects when it comes to finding the right wedding photographer for you. There's so many photographers out there and you probably feel overwhelmed with the amount of planning and things you have to think about when it comes to your wedding day. Which is why it is so vital to choose a wedding photographer who is experienced and who has a style of photography that not only captures the love you have for each other, but captures your wedding day in a way that will withstand the test of time.

I get asked a lot, “what’s your favourite part of a wedding day?”, and honestly I find it hard to pin point a certain part as all weddings are totally different.

However my favourite thing about capturing weddings, is the stories that come with it, the people and the emotion that I so gratefully get to capture.

I heard something the other day which really hit home for me, where one of my couples had sadly lost a family member so dear to them and the photos from their wedding day became one of the last treasured memories they had left of them.

This is why, it’s so important to choose a photographer that not only captures the beautiful golden hour couple photos, but the emotion and people that make your day so special.

Documentary photography will always be a part of me and my style, it’s my background and storytelling is something that inspires me every single day - whether that would be hearing how my couples met over a video call, or simply reading books or listening to music - storytelling is vital when it comes to wedding photography.

Everyone has a story to tell, and thankfully it’s my job to tell that beautiful story.
